Rally for Rocker 10 - 2025

We thought the weather would keep people away … boy were we wrong.

The Rally for Rocker demonstrates the incredible community present in Tahoe. We think we have the best event on snow. Huge props to Taylor Carlton for the Rally vision. It’s a legacy we’re proud to be a part of.

IMMENSE GRATITUDE TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS!

To Our Diggers!
We knew there was weather coming in and put the call out for help on Monday through Wednesday for the dig, and the community showed up. Thank you.

A lot more than just digging goes into planning for the Rally for Rocker, without timing the event wouldn’t work. We can’t thank Auburn Ski Club and our dedicated volunteers enough for helping with the timing on race day. There’s no chance that we could pull off a race that has over 500+ competitors without timing. To those who helped shuttle all of our infrastructure, again, we can’t thank you enough. It quite simply wouldn’t be possible without all of the help all week long getting all of the infrastructure up on top of Donner Summit. Not to mention all the support from our registration team, you ladies rock! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Skatepark Status

No one could’ve imagined how much legwork would be involved in trying to get this skate park permitted in Truckee. We’ve done it. We can build it. Thousands of volunteer hours have been put into the effort. We have an agreement with the Park District on paper, we’ve been approved by the town of Truckee, all of the land use entitlements & maintenance have been arranged with the property owner TDPUD and TDRPD.

The Rally for Rocker raised roughly $25,000 this year, an incredible achievement. This money will be deposited into the park district account that we have set up to track our fundraising process. We currently have over $370,000 in Park District account, and $40,000 in CharitySmith. It’s cost over $200,000 to get through the permit process over the last 6 years. Unfortunately, due to the fragmented nature of all of the public agencies in Truckee, it’s extremely unlikely that any public agency will fund the skatepark construction directly. It’s up to us to raise the money to build it.

The full estimate for the skatepark, including all of the civil improvements, such as curb, gutter sidewalk, wetland mitigation, and the parking lot, totals over $3.3 million.

We need an angel, corporate sponsor, or an organization that understands this generational opportunity to step up and help us get this done. We’re constantly applying for grants and attempting to reach out to all of the local community foundations for support.

Help us out. Can you take the TDRPD Survey to remind them that this community wants a skatepark! Then check out our UPDATES page to learn why it is so hard to build a skatepark in Truckee and why Town of Truckee doesn’t pay for sports.

Thanks for the support.
